Round one

Yes ! Round One is over ! We had Christmas this week-end with the in-laws and Prune’s cousin.. Nice to be all together and all, but as usual I was late: My SIL had only ONE mitten.. 😛 I really tried to finish the second one on sunday, but couldn’t concentrate enough with everybody around and I kept ripping what I had just knit.
Oh well, I’m not sure she loves them too (hardly tried it on, plus why didn’t I realise she loved that light green TEN YEARS AGO !!, silly me !!), so it’s kind of ok. They’re quick to make, and she asked for a capelet like her sister’s.. To which I said yes because they’re so quick to make and the yarn is from stash, recycled from thrifted huge sweater. (Should still have enough for a a cardi for me)
The kureyon beret and Cold shoulders capelet were more to their recipient’s taste tho, and my SIL wore it all night… 😀

Had to bribe Prune (with a candy) to take those pics btw. After the candy she said “Mum, take another picture. And I’ll have another candy…” And she’s only 2…!!!
Talking about candies.. You should have seen the amount of chocolate and candies she ate during the whole week-end, scary !!!

So now I have to finish the second mittenette and rewrite the pattern a bit ..merely a question of moving the thumb around. They’re like the same motif as my pink Malabrigo cardi and I like them a lot ..
Not too sure what I’ll do with the pattern yet… We’ll see !

And now I also have to start thinking about my mum who requested a little black vest with some sparkly yarn we got in our yarn haul from the thriftmarket a couple months back… I’m thinking crocheted granny squares around the waist and then some silly airy stitch for the rest. Something quick and that I could make with what little yarn we have..

I like the way the mittens cover the knuckles. Alot of patterns stop way short of there and are not so warm. I shouldn’t worry that there are lots of patterns for wrist warmers out there. Just think how many sock patterns there are but people always want more.
