Prune has jus grown up so fast recently. No more nappies (at least during daytime), she insists on eating with us around the table instead of her high-chair, and she’s also moved in to the “big bed”. But with winter coming around, she needed a blankie/duvet to sleep with in that big bed. So I made her one.

Still can’t believe I actually used that (top quilted) fabric exactly for the project I bought it for ! They usually wait for years in my cupboard before anything happens… Just like the red polar fleece, in the stash for years.
Yess ! Never say never..! 😉
It’s not quite finished yet as I still want to add a few more applique motifs (to hold both layers together), but really I’m happy with how it turned out !
Of course once more I sewed it all by hand (backstiched both layers together inside out, then sewed on the outside with greenish coton yarn). I was nearly ready to give the sewing machine a try but then laurent made fun of me saying “can’t wait to see you losing patience and get mad at it !” so I gave up…
Plus I have to admit I like the feeling of sewing by hand. Makes me feel like good old Caroline Ingalls, sewing petticoats by the fire in a cozy cabin…
Oh, and would you believe I won yarn in a blog-contest ?!!! And not just ANY yarn, but 2 skeins of Noro Silk Garden !!! Thank you again so much Melissa !!! I’ve never used/seen/touched Silk Garden yet, can’t wait !! Trying to think of a really great project to use them for, … and something for me of course !! Those are NOT going in a gift, no way !!! 😛
Btw, can you see the yarn (and knitting/crochet books) stored above Prune’s bed…? Yep, that’s where I store my crafting gear…
