Earlier this year I had minor health issues, and couldn’t work for a full month. So I figured I’d watch that show so many knitters love and see those famous shawls and mittens by myself: Outlander !
Of course I got hooked the minute I got into Season 2 (season 1 is pretty hard to watch sometimes, but it’s worth going past it) and binged watched the whole 7 seasons in just over a week !! Crazy, right ? I tell you, I couldn’t do anything but sit on my couch and watch Netflix 😀
Anyhow, once I got a little better, I continued and read the books… And knew I wanted one of Claire’s crossover shawls too.. But with an added long hood of course !
So here’s how the “Sassenach hooded shawl” was born. And it turns out it’s sooooo confortable to wear, I often wear it in my studio to work when it’s too cold inside. And of course, I love wearing it for my walks in the woods !
The hood and shawl are made separately, then sewn together.
While the hood is one-size only, the shawl will be custom-made to fit YOU !
