Last week we went away for a few days with the girls to my granmother’s chalet, as it’s hard to keep them busy here in our tiny appartment. I brought a few projects with me and although I didn’t do half as much as expected, I still have a couple (unfinished) things to show.
I experimented with some pretty rainbow Corriedale, spun and plied it to mix the colors as randomly as possible. Prune loved the yarn and asked I make something for her with it. I crocheted a cool little cuff that only needs a couple buttons and a good block. Simple sc with a fan here and here to create relief, it’s really pretty around her wrist. Will probably make more of those with small amounts of handspun.
Also, Maud’s Gudule cardi is close to being finished. Only a sleeve and buttonband to go… She’s excited to have a brand new sweater. But I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish it as… a bit out of the blue, we’re moving out of Annecy and back to the mountains surrounding Grenoble.
Which explains the relative scarce posting lately. Fact is we’ve been planning that move for a while, but thought that would only happen next year.
Spending a couple weeks in Vercors in July led to “What the heck, why wait ? Let’s move now!!”… We’re lucky to work from home on our own business so that was not a problem. We only needed to find a place to rent… We are SO not city people, we miss living in the mountains too much.
We got the answer for a (very nice) flat last week and are now packing, with the move planned within a week or two, so the girls can start a new year of school there. That means a lot of things to do and organise, a lot of work moving everything too. But very Exciting !! 😀
The picture above is all my pretty yarns going into huge plastic bags for their new home…
Congratulations on the move. I hope you have a great new start in your new place.
