So here is the Roselette top for my friend’s daughter. I gave it to her this afternoon and it’s so pretty on her. I’ll need a picture soon.. (and btw, it doesn’t show but prune has chicken pox. She’s very worried about all these little buttons, poor her !)
I used two strands of green acrylic yarn for the main color and some Monoprix “Rayure double” for the edgings. Came out pretty cute. I added a detachable flower as my friend (who just learned to crochet) was talking about making some of those. It has a button on each side so you can just button the flower on the top whenever you feel like it…
Here’s how I made the flower in case anybody wants one:
I made it with the CC (contrasting color) of my Roselette and the same size hook.
ch 5, slip stitch in first ch to form ring. (5 st)
ch 2, dc 2 in each ch around, join in top ch of initial ch-2. (10 st)
ch 1, *sc 1, tb 3 in next space* repeat 5 times from * to *, join with slip stitch in initial ch-1.
Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
Then choose 2 buttons, one pretty one for the right side of the flower and one stlightly larger for the back of the flower :choose it so it can just squeeze between the dcfls of the bodice section of the Roselette but won’t easily slip out.
Sew both buttons at the same time with the main color yarn. Weave in ends and that’s it !
I’m not the only one finishing a Roselette: look here at this super pretty one done in Noro Silk Garden ! (more pics on Ravelry)
Very cute!
