Back from Vercors..and yet more fiber and yarn !

Hi, I’m back.. actually we came back a few days ago already but life if busy these days !

We had a great time with our kiwi friends and ended up staying all week in my grandmother’s chalet: the cold air helped a lot with laurent’s headaches, which was good ! The car nearly broke down on our way back though, thanks again dad ! 😀

I stayed a lot with the girls and we went for walks and picnics.. but I also went on one long hike (4.5 hours of pure walking in the beautiful Vercors) with our friends.. Wow, it’s been ages since I hadn’t walked that long. Felt great, plus my muscles weren’t as stiff as I would have feared.. Great ! 😀

Not much crafting while we were there (unless you count those paper princesses we made with the girls.. 😉 but I did finish spinning the fiber I got in the first round of the fiber swap. And now my kick-spindle needs new bearings.. Maybe I’ve been using it too much lately.. 😉

I also dyed little bits of this and that for my new fiber-game (I’ve just realised that my post was publised as private, no wonder I didn’t have any comments! Lookee just 2 posts below)

And now we’re kind of back into the homely routine. Prune will be starting school again next week, and the official launch of our website is planned for next monday ! Lots of work ahead, so exciting ! 🙂

I’ve started some granny squares with yarn saved from a thrifted blankie. Don’t be fooled tho, those squares are HUGE, as in 20 cm (8′) wide… I’m using a 15 mm hook (Q) ! Just a fun little project. I’ve also started a colorful chevron skirt for prune. Not sure how it will turn out though..

And finally, more yarny goodness:

Here’s my huge Ugly Batt: a full pound of fiber with lovely colors..and for $10 ! I couldn’t resist ! Now I just new bearings on my kick spindle to tackle this monster..! 😛

And this is the yummy textured yarn I spun with my mixed fiberlets experiment : I spun a thinner white single to ply it with: really like how it turned out ! I see lots more experiments in the near future ! 🙂

Welcome back, great pictures! Just returned too, from Dordogne and Bourgogne, just the four of us in a tent. GREAT!
Ate a lot of La vache qui ri, pain au chocolate, and walked.
