So here are the toys we made the other day. Plume draw her template for the cat by herself, therefore said cat is kind of tiny, and not as cute as others. But it’s ours 🙂 You can tell that my embroidery skills are not that great too 😉 (sorry for dark pic, will try to take better soon)
Nell asked for a snake. I made her a rattling snake in a matter of minutes, with a little bell at the end of the tail. It was quite a success, and they loved playing with it. 🙂
Today I made a hat for Plume. Cut a red felted sweater thrifted at least a couple years ago. Zip and zip, this one was also SO quick to make it’s magic. I’m falling in love with my sewing machine. (which, once I grasp which needle to use, seems to behave incredibly well so far)
Also, Plume needed mittens for school so I made her a pair with double-sided fleece the other day, just in between lunch break. 😀 I basically just cut the fleece around a paper template we made with her hand, sewed on the wrong side, and then I crocheted a long chain with a circle (probably around 12 dc) at each end, and came back in *dc1, ch1* to make the chain a bit sturdier. She loves them and they work really great. What’s not to love ?!!
This morning I got to meet Yvette, a neighbor knitter from Grenoble. Was nice to meet her (and her friends) after knowing her only through her blog for several years. We chatted and I added a few squares to my latest Granny square blankie, made with not-so-nice salmon acrylic given by my mum: Using up the stash 🙂
I loved your ideas and your girls’s ideas too.
Please, tell for your daughter that i think that the cat is so cute and magic. The snake make me happy, and the gloves are fantastic and cozy.
Congratulations for your sewing machine love 🙂
