Home-sitting, and a new pink cardi

house sheep
This week we’ve been away, house-sitting a beautiful place in Vercors (where we’re dreaming of moving to within a couple years) and taking care of the cats. As you can see, it’s not too shaby.. 😉 Great for the girls who can play outside all day, and great for the parents who can relax without having to plan all sorts of activities. There’s even a couple lambs in the neighbours’s garden ! 😀

We actually did a little crafting though, sewing up a couple felt dolls with the girls. Prune is getting to the point where she did sew some of the seams, and helped a lot !

I also started knitting a cardi for Prune with some bulky cotton from Phildar, while watching tons of good DVDs (the owners are english, and they have good taste ;-D). It was a good opportunity to try a “knit version” of my Roselette top which I’ve been thinking of for a while. First try was a bit off, but the second version now looks way better. (sorry for the bedhead look, she’s still wearing her nightie in that pic)
Now I’m just not too sure how to finish that cardi: Plain stockinette, eyelets, or maybe feather and fan ? Plain might be the best looking one, but this yarn is so heavy that the more lace the better…
Oh and in case you wonder, nope it’s not eyelets across the bodice section, just kfb increases. They kind of look interesting in a plumetis-like look, but I may look further in the “increase” sections of my knitting books for any further prototypes… 😉

I hope you’re having a great summer too !
